Welcome to Davenport Maple Farm Restaurant

General Info

Davenport Maple Farm Restaurant offers more than a traditional morning meal. Located at 111 Tower Rd in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, this seasonal breakfast restaurant gives guests a chance to enjoy freshly made food while learning how real maple syrup moves from the farm to the table.

The restaurant opens for a limited season, usually from late February through early April. This timing matches the first maple harvest of the year, making every visit feel like a special spring tradition. Before or after breakfast, guests can step into the boiling room and watch maple sap being transformed into the rich syrup served upstairs. The warm steam, sweet aroma, and working farm setting add an experience that is hard to find at an ordinary breakfast spot.

Naturally, maple syrup is one of the main attractions at Davenport Maple Farm Restaurant. It pairs beautifully with the restaurant’s homemade pancakes, waffles, French toast, and other breakfast favorites. Instead of relying on packaged mixes, the kitchen prepares its breads and batters from scratch. Many of the recipes have been passed down over time, so the food has a comforting, homemade quality.

Local ingredients also play an important role in the menu. The restaurant uses products such as local milk, apples, apple cider, cider donuts, and locally roasted coffee whenever possible. As a result, breakfast feels connected to the surrounding Shelburne Falls community. A hot cup of coffee, a generous stack of pancakes, and fresh maple syrup make an especially satisfying combination on a chilly early-spring morning.

Although the menu celebrates traditional breakfast food, it also includes gluten-free and vegan choices. This makes Davenport Maple Farm Restaurant a welcoming option for groups with different dietary preferences. Portions are known for being generous, so guests should arrive hungry and ready for a filling country-style meal.

The atmosphere is casual, friendly, and family-oriented. Staff members help keep the experience warm and welcoming, even during busy weekends. Since the restaurant does not accept reservations, tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Arriving earlier in the day may help reduce the wait, particularly during peak maple season.

A meal at Davenport Maple Farm Restaurant combines scratch-made breakfast, local ingredients, farm traditions, and fresh maple syrup in one memorable visit. Its short opening season makes it worth planning ahead, especially for anyone who enjoys hearty food and authentic New England maple experiences.

What customers say?

“ We just went for breakfast this morning (3/1/2025) after an absence of way too many years. We arrived around 9:30 and the place was hopping. They initially said it would be a 45 minute wait, but it actually turned out to be less than 10 minutes. We were greeted by a very lovely, smiling and upbeat young lady who took us to our table for 2, which was qickly followed by our equally lovely waitress. The food was excellent and the syrup of course was perfect. We enjoyed seeing the young families and couples all sharing large family style tables and enjoying the moment. Quick tip: get there around 10AM after the rush and you should get a table pretty quickly! The ride up to the farm is fun and provides an excuse to drive into the hills that you may not venture into otherwise. If you haven't done it before, please go and treat yourself and your family, if like me you haven't been back in quite sometime, GO because I regret missing past years of treating ourselves to this experience. If you found this review helpful, please let me know by tapping the thumbs up. Thanks! ”

“ This place is open seasonally. This Year is from February 26 - April 3, 2022. Saturday and Sunday 8 am - 3 pm. I drove two hours to get here. And today was a snowy day. The drive was absolutely worth the experience. The place was jam packed. We waited about an hour to be seated. While you wait you can tour the sugar house while you wait. I met Lisa there and she explained the process. The food was great too. We had a short stack, mixed berry waffle, combo #2 and Walters favorite. Instead of pancakes we ordered Finnish pancakes. Maaaan those were absolutely wonderful. It's kind of a hybrid between waffles pancakes and eggs. Devine. I highly recommend this place. And also they have farm made maple syrup. They mentioned that they made the batter freshly. It was quite a treat on a snowy day in New England. ”
